Feelings Are Flawed. Data Isn’t.
When I first started growing my business, I made a lot of decisions based on how I felt.
If I felt like a lead was hot, I chased it.
If I felt like my funnel was working, I ran with it.
If I felt like a channel was dry, I dropped it.
But here’s what I learned the hard way:
Your feelings are not a strategy.
And they’ll never scale your business.
The Shift That Changed Everything
Real growth came when I made this mindset shift:
Track what you’re doing. Trust what the numbers say.
Instead of guessing what was working, I started tracking everything:
- How many people saw my offer
- How many booked a call
- What the cost per lead was
- What the cost per sale was
I stopped flying blind and started flying smart.
Here’s Why This Works
Most freelancers get stuck because they’re running on emotion.
They think they’re doing enough.
They think their process is clear.
They think they need a new offer, a new platform, a new strategy.
But when you look at the numbers, the truth is often simpler:
You don’t need a new thing, you need to do the current thing better.
And the only way to improve something…
is to measure it.
What This Looks Like in Practice
I applied this across the board:
- Networking: I tracked how many one-to-ones I scheduled each week
- Organic outreach: I tracked message response rates and conversions
- Paid ads: I tracked impressions, clicks, cost per lead, and ROI
- Fulfillment: I tracked delivery speed and client satisfaction
I even tracked my own time and energy.
Because if something was working, but burning me out, I adjusted.
Scaling Without Stress Starts Here
When I let go of the emotional rollercoaster and embraced data…
My business stopped stalling.
It grew faster. Cleaner. More profitably.
You want to scale?
Start by asking:
What are my actual numbers?
Then use them to guide your next move.
